Very few companies in the world operate BBJs and even fewer have the operational expertise and regulatory certifications to operate Boeing Business Jets in commercial service, known as Part 135 operations. The reason for this is that becoming a certified BBJ operator is a daunting task that requires many approvals from multiple branches of both the US and foreign governments before the aircraft can enter revenue service.
